Press Telegram: Long Beach skateboarders to show their stuff aboard float in Tournament of Roses Parade

Long Beach’s own Action Sports Kids Foundation will be featured Monday, Jan. 2, at the Tournament of Roses Parade in connection with the Meet the Nouns float.

ASK was formed 27 years ago by former City Councilman Mike Donelon to promote skateparks in Long Beach. It formed a partnership with skateboard legend Tony Hawk early on, with Hawk’s nonprofit Skatepark Project donating to build and improve skateparks, and donate skateboards, helmets and equipment to ASK members.

Hawk, in turn, created a partnership with Nouns — a Web 3 art project created by Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, which is behind “Robot Chicken” and other stop-motion animation. The Nouns are meme-like NFT characters, part of a Web 3 art project that auctions off an NFT a day.
